JOURNEY MAGAZINE ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW HIRES
Hopeful stories of recovery continue to drive the publication’s growth

PORTLAND, ME (March 28, 2022) – Now in its fourth year, Journey Magazine is transitioning from an all-volunteer organization to bringing on its first four employees: Peter Rosasco has been hired as Operations Coordinator; Roz Applebaum joins Journey as Business Development Director; Niki Curtis has been hired as Community Engagement Director and Brenda Briggs has been hired as Distribution Coordinator.  All four are former volunteers with the magazine.

“We are thrilled to be able to hire Peter, Roz, Niki and Brenda, who have all done so much for Journey as volunteers,” said Publisher and CEO Carolyn Delaney. “Journey’s mission has been embraced by so many and our reach has grown exponentially in both the print and digital space.”   The magazine is distributed throughout Maine, including all jails, prisons and recovery support centers. It is also mailed to 800+ homes and can be found in 1000+ business locations throughout the State.

Operations Coordinator Peter Rosasco supports all departments to facilitate efficiency and effectiveness. Peter has volunteered at Journey for the past six months and has implemented many time saving processes as well as helping to build and maintain proprietary tracking systems. He is also a full time student at Southern Maine Community College, studying IT.

Business Development Director Roz Applebaum is responsible for identifying and building strategic relationships. Roz, who has volunteered with Journey for the past year, began her career as a journalist and then spent 30-plus years in the events industry.

Community Engagement Director Niki Curtis works directly with recovery support centers, recovery residences, and statewide coalitions to identify opportunities for collaboration, and uses Journey’s platform to elevate and amplify the services provided to the recovery community. Niki has been a volunteer with Journey since its early days.

Distribution Coordinator Brenda Briggs  manages the various street teams that distribute the magazine to community businesses around the State. Brenda has been a volunteer with Journey since day one.

About Journey Magazine

Journey was launched in March 2019 by a team of people who saw an opportunity to use media, marketing and publishing to amplify a message of hope about addiction recovery. Published six times a year and distributed throughout Maine, the magazine is devoted to changing the narrative about addiction to a hope-filled conversation about recovery. Our unique message focuses on solutions as we choose to spotlight organizations, businesses and programs that support the path for people recovering from substance use disorder.
