Years ago, I told a friend that I couldn’t meditate. My brain wasn’t capable, I thought. I can’t focus like that.

And that friend asked, “Do you know how to worry?”

Well, of course I know how to worry!

“Then you know how to meditate,” she said. “It’s just that you’re using your abilities focusing on the negative rather than on the positive.”

And so my excuse for not meditating was undercut. Turns out, I can meditate- and the more I practice, the more quickly I’m able to calm my mind.
